Not far up your path is blocked by a Dark Elf hive bulb. Welcome to “The Below.”Ĭontinue along the path, using the Blades of Chaos to cross the gap. Use the Blades of Chaos to hook over to the ledge that leads further in. Continue to climb down and you’ll learn that this structure is likely a refuge for the Dark Elves. There’s a small tower next to it and other structures, some lit. Head into the storm and not long after going southeast you’ll come across a strange cave structure in the middle of the sand. The marker for this quest indicates that you need to go southeast. Once the desert actually opens up, pop open your map and you’ll see more of The Barrens. Two creatures called Gulon appear pulling a sled run up and await your direction. Approach and talk to him to get the quest “Secret of the Sands” added to your list of Favors.Īfter opening the Mystic Gateway to add it to your list, walk further into the desert. Progress through until you see Sindri’s workshop in an abandoned market on the side of a rather large open area. Kratos notes that he’s interested in finding the animal Atreus heard, meaning you’ve got a side quest to hunt. Learn how to find the Vulture's Gold on the buried treasure page. I know that as this game is still in the early access phase as I write this and not officially released, we cannot look too deeply into it.You can only unlock the Secret of the Sands after the end of the story mission Groa’s Secret and a new path in Alfheim is opened thanks to clashing elves.įollow Atreus down into the desert and don't forget to grab the treasure map on the ground shortly after you walk through the hole. I just love the whole personality everything here has it is a great deal of fun and it reminds me of something that would have been on the Game Boy Advance or perhaps even something earlier like the Game Boy Color. There Is Something Advanced About This!Īs far as the visuals go, I already touched on how Gods of Sand uses pixel art, but it truly is some of the best I have seen in this early part of 2022. While I like the idea of this, I think having a bit of hack and slash action here could have been fun too. You have to cleverly decide when is the right time to use a certain attack or weapon. Combat is turn based and there is way more strategy to it than you would think. In Gods of Sand, your Ludus can be made better and you can train your gladiators so they are much better in combat. Training To Winīefore you can battle in the various arenas you have to make sure your gladiators are ready for war. Winning battles is the key to moving forward in this game, the more you win, the more money you make and the better gear you can have. Each gladiator also has their own stats which as you have guessed can be improved as they win more battles. Any gladiator can use any kind of gear or weapon so there is a ton of choice here from fire to a good old sword, you can decide what kind of gear and weapons you want any given gladiator to specialize in. There are many different builds that your gladiators can have in Gods of Sand. I love the whole premise of this and they do say that the game is based on another game called, Swords and Sandals. You do this by training fighters and heading out all over the place to fight other warriors so you can make money, improve your standing and make money so your Ludus can be great once again. You have a Ludus, but it is far past its glory days, and you are tasked with bringing it back to glory! Welcome To Gladiator Schoolĭid you know what a Ludus was? Before Gods of Sand, I sure as hell did not, but think of it like a school for gladiators, where they train, live, and make money. I just wanted to shine a bit of light on this game and why I think it could be one of the more fun titles to be released in the first part of 2022. This is an early access game that still is not yet complete so please keep that in mind as we go forward. Before I even knew what kind of game God of Sand was, the pixel style art had me very interested in learning more about it.
